Katy Geist
Licensed Professional Counselor
Katy began her career as a singer, songwriter and voice coach. She taught private voice lessons for 17 years, working one on one with teens and adults, helping them "find their voice". It didn't take long to realize that what she loved more than the music were the emotions and revelations that came through the process. Students often joked about "going to counseling/singing lessons." This led Katy to make it a reality and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Now, Katy continues to help clients "find their voice" in a different way.
Katy recieved her bachelor's degree at West Texas A&M Univeristy and Master's Degree at Wayland Baptist. She has served as a Chaplain & Bereavement coordinator with Hospice. She has taught workshops and classes on topics including Boundaries, Marriage, Blended Families, and Step Parenting.
Katy has extensive experience working with teens and adults in areas such as anxiety, depression, co-dependency, narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, chronic pain, relationship issues, self-esteem/self-worth and much more. Katy provides a relaxed environment where clients can feel safe to heal.
Who is Katy outside of the office? She is married and has two stepchildren. She enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, traveling, cooking (especially for friends and family), watching true crime shows and comedies, reading, and music. Katy and Husband are involved with different ministries in the area. Her relationship with God is incredibly important and personal to her. However, she does not push her beliefs on others and is always interested to learn about others' views and belief systems. Katy is known to be a welcoming, open-minded, and genuine person.
